What will the energy efficient cities of tomorrow look like? I believe the most significant change will come in the form of transportation. For more than 50 years planners have designed cites to move cars, not people. However, not much wastes more oil and energy than an automobile based transit system; with cheap oil that was fine but the world is changing. In time rising energy prices will force cities to install efficient, electric mass transit systems. This site attempts to illustrate what American cities will look like after the mass transit revolution. So hop onboard and take a trip with me into the near future, to the United States of 2040; a place similar and yet very different than the one we know today.
